Spy photographers aren’t the only ones who can leak the looks of a new automotive prototype in today’s internet empowered world. One need only consider these latest images of the new B9 Audi A4 as proof.
Images revealed today on the Chinese website AutoHome.com.cn appear to reveal key details of the upcoming B9 well before its expected reveal later this summer and official reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The images, like the shot above of the car’s re-designed new headlight and dashboard below appear to be shots of the car taken during some sort of state of assembly and with little more than a sheet to keep things hidden.

This isn’t the first time this sort of leak has happened. Weeks before the reveal of the current Audi RS 4 Avant, images of what turned out to be the car’s front bumper sitting on the floor of a factory appeared online. More recently, an initial image of the new Audi R8 appeared on Instagram. Both, though viewed skeptically, turned out to be real. We expect these photos will prove just as real.
If it is real, we’re expecting this car was part of a presentation to Audi China. The headlight appears to be a lower-spec HID unit versus an expected LED headlight that will undoubtedly be offered as an option.
