Mercedes-Benz Concept Coupé SUV
Mercedes-Benz will be among the numerous automakers presenting new concepts at the Beijing Motor Show later this month, but at the company's annual shareholders' meeting today in Berlin, Daimler chairman Dr. Dieter Zetsche gave an advanced look at what to expect.

Called the Concept Coupé SUV, the show car is expected to preview the production MLC-Class – a long-anticipated crossover coupe to be built alongside the M-Class in Tuscaloosa, AL. Few details were disclosed, but it's clear that Mercedes is taking aim at the BMW X6 with this crossover, bearing a more aggressive form over the ML on which it is based and with a more rakish (if less versatile) roofline.

Assuming the same powertrain options carry over from the M-Class, we could be looking at everything from a V6 to a twin-turbo V8 to power the eventual production MLC. As for what's under the hood of this particular show car, we'll have to wait to find out.
