Kevin Magnussen's crash at Eau Rouge during the Belgian Grand Prix is believed to have
registered an impact that measured 40G. The FIA safety engineers will be investigating the
incident as it is the first time that the cockpit head protection has been dislodged and thrown
out of the car by the force of an impact. The cockpit surround is made from foam that is there
to ensure that there is sufficient deceleration if the driver's helmet goes close enough to the
side of the cockpit.
