Ferrari GTC4 Lusso in GenevaFour-wheel drive FF successor

The Ferrari FF is the longest serving steed in the Ferrari stables. In 2016, the V12 all-wheel drive GTC4 Lusso will arrive to take its place.

It's the only four-seater in the Ferrari portfolio, as well as the only all-wheel drive car. And now it's at the end of its product life. As FCA Boss Sergio Marchionne announced back in 2014, the Ferrari family's new arrival will arrive in 2016. The successor isn't merely a facelifted FF, but a completely new car, carrying a new name - the Ferrari GT4 Lusso. It will premiere at the Geneva International Motor Show in March.

Beneath the long bonnet of the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso lurks the same naturally aspirated 6.3 litre V12 engine, however performance is upped to 690 BHP. The maximum torque of the V12 climbs meanwhile to 697 Nm. This will take the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso to a storming 0-100 km/h time of 3.4 seconds, and a top speed of 335 km/h.

The revamped design sees the FF successor grow slightly in length, width and height (4,922 mm x 1,980 mm x 1,383 mm). The dry weight of the 2+2 sportscar is cited as 1,790 kg. Weight distribution is 47% up front, 53% at the rear, and the power to weight ratio is 2.6 kg per horsepower.

The further developed all-wheel drive system - with its electronically controlled differential, suspension, and drift mode - has for the first time been coupled with rear-wheel steering. This addition will make the GTC4 Lusso more dynamic.

The lines of the shooting brake style coupé has been changed minimally. The front of the car receives a new grill, the roof sits a little deeper, and the rear of the car is graced with both a spoiler and new lights. The rear apron has also been given a new diffusor. On the interior, the new double cockpit has been combined with a new steering wheel, and there is a new touchscreen infotainment system.

Prices for the new Ferrari GTC4 Lusso have not yet been announced.
